Community-associated MRSA Information Community-associated MRSA in Student Athletes and Guidelines for Illinois Schools (from Winter 2007-08 issue of Illinois Pediatrician) Information from National AAP for Parents, Schools and Students Illinois Department of Public Health Resources Resources from Minnesota Department of Public Health Encourage Physical Education and Activity for Students School Medication Information Sheets: Information sheets on medications commonly-prescribed for use in school were developed by ICAAP's Committee on School Health to make it easier for pediatricians, office staff and others to complete authorization and permission for administration of medication forms required by schools. Each sheet contains usages, standard dosage, side effects, precautions/possible interactions, and overdose information easily readable and recognizable by school nurses and other school personnel. Instead of repeatedly having to write out the same standard information, providers may print and copy information sheets on Acetaminophen, Albuterol, Epinephrine, Ibuprofen, and Methylphenidate highlight relevant/important information, and attach the appropriate sheet to students' authorization forms. These sheets are not meant to replace schools' authorization forms or cover all possible uses, directions, precautions, drug interactions, or adverse effects. Providers should submit required school forms and carefully indicate specific instructions for the student in question on the school's form and/or on the drug information sheet to avoid inappropriate use of the medication. School personnel should follow the instructions outlined by the physician or other licensed prescriber on the student's authorization form.
